Harry's Cafe de Wheels has a proud 70 year history of food, service and value for money. It is Australia's first fast food outlet with continuous service of the same dishes since 1945. Our signature dish is the Tiger which is a pie, mushy peas, mash and gravy your choice of a lean beef, chicken and mushroom, cheese and bacon or vegetable pie. Harry's is also famous for its Chilli Dog and Hot Dog de Wheels.
It has maintained a tradition of daily fresh deliveries of its pies. Originally supplied by Sargents Pies of Darlinghurst, followed by McKay & Boys of Granville and for the past fifteen years has been supplied by Hannah's pies of Ultimo. In the begininng we setout to live up to the good name that Harry's and its suppliers forged over the previous fifty years. We developed a range of pies and pasties with respect to the method and the traditions of the past.
Using the original methods with modern knowledge, we maintain the quality and original flavour of 1945, through this we have continued to satisfy today's discerning consumers.
A typical Harry's Meat Pie contains:
FILLING: 98% Lean Topside Steak chunks, Rock Salt, Pepper, Herbs and Spices
PASTRY: Flour, Butter, Rock Salt, Baking Powder
