Sydney based Opals on George secured both the Bridge Jewellery and Australian Opals categories with their outstanding concepts and extensive experience of over 27 years. Opals on George are Australia’s largest specialist opal retailer.
The two T1 jewellery concepts will take up prime positions in the International Terminal’s highly anticipated new shopping precincts with direct access to the millions of departing travellers who pass through the International Terminal – more than 5 million in 2007.
The T1 Bridge Jewellery category is so defined as it ‘bridges’ the fine jewellery and costume jewellery categories and is one of the highest growth jewellery categories throughout the world. The concept, to be branded Adorn Silver, will offer a range of jewellery made from precious metals, mostly sterling silver and semi-precious gemstones such as aquamarine, garnets and amethyst.
The Australian Opal concept, to be branded Opal Fields, will feature the designs of Opals on George’s internationally acclaimed, in-house award winning designers to deliver unique, iconic pieces and impeccable craftsmanship across a full range of jewellery from value based gift items to those incorporating the highest quality opals and pearls.
Additionally, Pandora has been announced as the winners of a Request for Proposal in the Domestic Terminal 2. The brilliant Pandora charm based concept has been going from strength to strength in Australia and New Zealand since its arrival from Denmark only four years ago as has been the case in both the US and Germany.
The flagship T2 Pandora store will be exposed to T2’s diverse and vibrant passenger base - more than 11 million passengers in 2007.
Sydney Airport is rated the second highest gross retail sales per passenger in the world* and for the past three years (2007, 2006 and 2005) has been voted in the Top Ten International Airports (Conde Nast).
Currently undergoing a major $500 million redevelopment, Sydney’s International Terminal will provide world-class passenger facilities including new retail outlets with over 140 stores planned for Terminal 1.
The highly anticipated results of the T1 luxury fashion category are due to be announced soon. Further T1 Requests for Proposal are due imminently in the categories of ladies’, men’s and children’s fashion and accessories, sunglasses, lingerie, sport, lifestyle, books, food and toys.
